greenBatt – Projects

The research projects in the greenBatt cluster are organized along the process chain of recycling and resynthesis to close material cycles as well as three main research fields, which represent central solution strategies for mapping the challenges in the end-of-life of batteries:

• Life Cycle Design & Engineering
• Process technology
• Digitalization

Numerous projects are located at the interfaces between several processes and research fields. This underlines the high degree of interdisciplinarity of all research activities in the cluster. The accompanying project greenBattNutzung combines partial results of the cluster into an overall system analysis of the end-of-life of batteries. The project is also located at the interface to the competence cluster Battery Utilization Concepts, so that a joint consideration of strategies for secondary use and recycling is possible from a technological, environmental and economic perspective.
